The Central Workshop is functioning under the support and
services of the Institute and it is one among those that serve, support
and enhances the academic process of
B. Tech. and M. Tech. students and M.S. and PhD. research scholars. The
IIT Madras functions as an autonomous institution to produce high quality
students and also as a research Institution with a primary aim of
providing a high standard education. The Central Workshop facilitates to
impart practical skills for the students in major fields of engineering
and technology. It also helps to fabricate experimental set up with the
required quality and quantity within stipulated time to support research
projects of the Institute.
